Alisa Yasnaya Biography:

Alisa Yasnaya was born in Sankt-Petersburg Russia, (formerly Leningrad) which is the second largest city in Russia. It may be second to Moscow by size and population but first and foremost as an historicly art cultured city. This city is known for Hermitage, Mariinskiy and Alexandrinsky theatres. Alisa’s love of art was nurtured by the environment she grew up in. Her great grandfather, Boris Kharlamov, was a reknowned artist in Russia during the turn of the 20th century. Alisa strongly believes that part of her talent was inherited from him.

From an early age she demonstrated a passion for art and drawing and so her parents enrolled her in art classes at the age of six.  When Alisa turned nine she transferred to a famous art school for children. After finishing the school, Alisa continued her education at Rerich Art Academy.

Alisa has had several shows in Russia, Holland, Israel and Canada. Some of her art pieces have gone into private collections.  Her style of drawing has changed throughout the years but her main philosophy of art remains the same. It is to bring happiness, serenity, peace, and make people think with their hearts…

Her favorite artists are Pablo Picasso, Mark Chagall, Vincent Van Gogh, and Pierre Renoir. Expressionism is the way of life and art that Alisa follows.

Alisa lives with her two daughters and works in Toronto.
